In this article will show how to install DFS share for the sharecache feature of APP-v
First step will be In the server manager window select on the right side pane the “Roles” node.In the right side pane click on the “Add Roles” button just like in the picture.
On the first screen click “Next”
Select the box for “File Services” Click “Next”
On next screen press next
Select the following “Role Services” Checkbox ticked for :
“File Server”, “DFS Namespaces”
Click “Next”
Tick the box for “Create a namespace now, using the wizard” Type in the box for the namespace name for example “AppV” -it can be any other name
Tick the box for “Stand-alone namespace” and enter the share for the namespace ex: \\server\sharecache
In the next screen click on “Add” button
Select a folder target – Click Browse
Click Browse again.Browse through thedomain and select the file share server Click on “Show Shared Folders”
Select the folder that is for the sharedcache Click “OK”
Click ok on this screen
review the setting and go to the next step
Click “Install” and wait for the installation to finish.
Expand in the server management console the following node File Services-DFS Management – Namespaces
Right click on the « SharedCache » Select “Add Folder Target” from the drop down list
IN the Path to folder – select the path to the folder share Click ok
Now the namespace should point to two folder targets Appv1 and appv2. The administrator can move the target from one location to another for the sharedcache updates. The default enabled location is appv1
